One For The History Books

Sessions By Ascension were commissioned to handpick vocalists for the royal coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

The Ascension Choir comprises of some of the finest voices across the musical spectrum and performed ‘O Sing Praises’ a classical gospel piece sung acapella which was composed specifically for the occasion.

Taking place in Westminster Abbey, the performance - the first of a gospel choir in a coronation - was widely lauded as one of the highlights of the ceremony and was reportedly watched by two billion people worldwide.

 In Honour Of A Fifty Year Union

To celebrate the incredible milestone of fifty years of marriage, Sessions By Ascension were requested to assemble The Ascension Choir in grand fashion.

Thirty brilliant voices backed by an eighteen piece band singing a bespoke medley that traversed through the client’s memories through the genres of musical theatre, folk, pop and funk. A truly amazing spectacle.in the elegant surroundings of The Royal Opera House in the heart of Covent Garden.

Concept, curation, vocal and accompaniment arrangement and conduction all taken care of by SBA. An absolute joy.

Who better to bring ample amounts of Christmas charm than a six piece vocal group?

The beauty and lifestyle giant, Space NK asked for The Ascension Choir to join them on the luxurious Belmond Train along with their cohort of editors and beauty influencers to sing Christmas classics while taking in the beauty of the English countryside.

Singing our signature festive arrangements acapella while moving through the ornately decorated carriages of this beautifully restored British Pullman train created an amazing moment for both us and the attendees.

For the second year running, Lux Afrique hosted Europe’s leading African polo event at London’s prestigious Ham Polo Club and Sessions By Ascension were in attendance to set the musical atmosphere.

Fully living up to it’s tagline of “ Celebrating The Regal Spirit Of Africa” the event combined an exclusive polo event which fielded professional international teams with a luxurious celebration of African culture and spirit. We provided a headline set of Afrobeat originals and Fela Kuti classics which thrilled the music aficionados, educated the masses and brought everyone to this entirely unique dance floor.

Some of Session By Ascension’s finest came through as a five piece in conjunction with the Kit & Caboodle team to provide completely live back to back high energy sets filled with party anthems, modern Christmas classics and an old school garage medley that had the crowd on their feet and asking for more.

In Celebration Of A Beautiful Union

 Held on the grounds of the beautiful Wilderness Reserve in rural Suffolk, Sessions By Ascension was proud to provide an eight piece band to celebrate Lucy & Lawrence’s nuptials. From traditional hymns and African praise and worship in the village church to RNB, hip hop and garage classics for the dance floor, we covered it all!

 Celebrating In The Heart Of The City

It was our pleasure to provide the SBA Trio to serenade the brand new couple from the aisle to the confetti showers.

Taking place in a beautiful church in the heart of the city, our vocalists brought our bespoke arrangements of the couple’s favourite soul and RNB songs to life accompanied by a pianist. We fulfilled our mandate which was to remind them of old memories while creating brand new ones.

Using Our Gifts For Good

We were honoured to be asked for The Ascension Choir to be the headliners for the international law firm Latham & Watkins’ charity fundraiser to benefit Big Kid Foundation. A charity which is dedicated to ensuring no young person loses their life or potential to youth violence, it was an extremely worthy recipient of the money raised and made for an enthusiastic audience.

Sessions By Ascension created an intimate Christmas Carol concert filled with bespoke arrangements of both old and new classics to ring in the festive season featuring some of the industry’s best voices.

Everyone deserves a heartfelt celebration of their life, some are blessed enough to actually get one.

Putting together a bespoke four piece band who could play gospel, Nigerian High Life music and current chart favourites without missing a beat was something that we at Sessions By Ascension took great pride in doing for these wonderful clients. Bringing joy and true culture to The Mayfair Hotel’s dance floor was an absolute pleasure.
